Lloyd Fredrick  Waterman

June 2, 1931 - April 2, 2018

Peacefully, with family by his side Lloyd passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge in Winnipeg MB at the age of 86 years.

Lloyd was born to Fred and Eveline Waterman on June 2, 1931. Lloyd grew up in the RM of Glenwood on the Waterman homestead West of Souris. Lloyd and Betty (Harrap) were married in Souris on October 8, 1960. They farmed on the adjoining Waterman property. Lloyd also had a small welding business and provided welding services for the local farmers. In 1981, they moved to Souris into Betty’s Aunt’s house. Lloyd worked at Cubbons Garage in Souris and in Wawanesa at E. Bain Jackson and Sons Implements.

Lloyd and Betty then moved to Kenton in 1992 to be near their daughter’s family. Lloyd was an appointed committee member with the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for 19 years. He helped on Scott and Marcia’s farm for many years. After 25 years, they moved to Winnipeg while they waited for an opening with seniors housing in Brandon. Lloyd will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Betty (Elizabeth), his daughters Marcia (Scott) Routledge and Eleanor Ironman, sons Philip Waterman and Harry Ironman, grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Lloyd was predeceased by his son Ernie Ironman in 2006.

We would like to give thanks to all the staff involved with Lloyd’s care at Fred Douglas Lodge. He was a truly caring and gentle man. He will live in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held April 19, 2018 in Kenton at 2 pm in the Kenton Church.
