JOYCE THIBERT
(née Sinclair)
Joyce passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017, after a long-fought battle with cancer.
She was predeceased her husband Jean Louis Thibert in December 18, 1998, and by her son James. Joyce was the centre of our family and will be missed by her children, Michelle Rondeau (Normand), Shannon Werbiski, Suzanne, Bev, Christine (Dave) and Charlene (John); special friend and partner, Steve, and grandchildren Michelle, Rachelle, Darren, Dory, Delanie, Jaymi, Ryan, Gina, Gunner, Brennan, Angie, John, Courtney, Veronica, Alex, and Catherine.
Joyce was born in St Andrews, Manitoba, and spent her adult life in the Winnipeg area. She was passionate about bringing up her family as a stay at home mom. After the kids were brought up, Joyce went to work in the clothing industry for years.
Joyce loved gardening, camping & fishing and held a Master Angler Award. She was passionate about hockey, her favorite team being the Montreal Canadians.
She always had words of wisdom and a calming approach to even the most stressful situations.
Joyce’s sweet smile and sparkling eyes will be missed. Her little giggle will remain etched in her followers' minds forever.
In her later years she was an active member of the West Kildonan Legion Branch #30 where she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family — she was well-known for attending the Saturday Meat Draws and later enjoying her Fridays and Saturdays with good friends, music, and shuffle board at the Legion.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm at the West Kildonan Legion Branch #30 – 1748 Main St.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Steve Iwaniw, her special friend and partner, for the love and support he provided Joyce through her battle with cancer over the years.
If friends so desire, a donation can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba.
