Jim Rowe

June 30, 1946 - June 30, 2019

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Rowe on June 30, 2019.  He fought long and hard over the last year and we  take comfort in knowing he is finally at peace and reunited with his wife.

Jim leaves behind his daughter Kimberley, sister Marlene and Brother Johnny; as well as beloved granddaughters Abigail and Hazel; as well as many great friends and neighbours.  Jim was predeceased by his wife Shirley, parents Clifford and Doris, sisters Linda and Diane.

Jim was incredibly generous and would give the shirt off his back to help his friends and neighbours. He loved carpentry and there were many days that you would find him tinkering with something in his garage. He was always the first to welcome new neighbours to the neighbourhood with a smile and an offer to help with anything they needed. One of Jim’s great joys was putting on his Santa suit and seeing the magic of Christmas in children’s eyes.  The other great joy in his life was his dog Oscar.  He walked 5k a day with Oscar and would take him everywhere he went.  Tim Hortons and Crescent Drive Park were where you could find them every morning walking with the deer and all the friends they met along the way.

The celebration of Jim’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, located on 603 Wellington Crescent.
