Richelle came to us unexpectedly. As she discovered her world filled with love, family, colours, scents of nature and creativity she was a constant source of joy. She was carried to the University of Manitoba. As an infant she attended lectures at the Faculty of Arts and Education with her mother. On May 31, 2007, when she was 11 years old, Richelle was struck by a van at the corner of Lenore and Westminster. Although this accident did not impact her intellectual and creative abilities, Richelle began to experience symptoms of PTSD. In high school she wrote and illustrated her coping book called "The End". On May 29, 2014, she won the 14th annual Scirocco Drama Manitoba High School Playwriting Competition for her work, "It's Definitely About the Keys". Sadly, her exposure to recreational substances, resulted in her hospitalization at HSC Psychiatric Ward in June of 2017 and again the following Spring as she experienced symptoms associated with Mania and Psychosis. Richelle left us during a period of profound depression. She endeavoured to process her experiences as she logged them on her YouTube channel and podcasts.
Richelle's life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Avenue at Maryland Street.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Jose Stelzer, Rebecca Dolyniuk and to the many neighbours and friends who have come forward with loving support.
