Mae Polnick
February 27, 1920 - March 16, 2018
With sadness in our hearts, we said final farewells to our sister, mother, and grandmother, Mae Hendry Polnick. Cremation has taken places and Mae’s ashes will be spread in Scotland as she wished.
Predeceased by her spouse, Edward George Polnick and sister Jean McCormick, Mae is survived by her brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Helen; her only son, Robert (Heather) Polnick; the light of her eyes, her grandchildren Allison (Chris) Pollock, Lindsay (Rebecca) Polnick, Jennifer Polnick; great-grandchildren Ella and Ethan.
Mae was born in Scotland on February 27, 1920, and immigrated to Canada in 1926 and settling in High Bluff, Manitoba.
Mae enlisted in the Canadian Forces (Navy) from 1942-1945, before settling in Winnipeg.
Mae’s passion was her family. She loved getting together with all of us. She will be missed.
Thank you to the staff and doctors of both the Health Sciences Centre and Misericordia hospitals for the care they gave Mae.
