Otto Pohl

*This video was produced by the Pohl family and played at the Celebration of Life

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our father Otto Pohl on Thursday evening, November 23rd, 2017 at the age of 70 years.

Left to mourn and fondly remember Otto’s memory is his loving wife Diana, his three grateful sons Jason, Jeremy (Marie) and grandson Austin and Darryl (Kim) and grandchildren Xavier and Tatyana.  Dad also leaves to mourn his niece Lucy (Raymond), nephews Rick (Beth) and Bruce (Kathy), and niece Rosy (late Jamie) and their many children.  Dad was the last living member of his immediate family and was predeceased by his father Siegesmund, mother Rosalia, and his sisters Hildegard (late Joseph) and Waldine.

The Pohl family wish to express their sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at Health Science Centre and the Palliative Care Program for providing dad with excellent care in his final days.  In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations in Otto’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca).

A celebration of Otto’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road.

“Husbands, fathers and grandfathers

don’t come any better than our dad Otto Pohl.”
