Patrick Enright
April 8, 1939 - February 6, 2017

With great sorrow the family of Patrick Enright announces the passing of their dear father in the Riverview Health Centre. He left us peacefully on Feb 6, 2017 at the age of 77 years; after a long battle with cancer.
Pat was born on April 8, 1939 in Wadena, SK to Peter and Frances Enright. Pat was the eighth child of thirteen in his family who farmed near Lintlaw, SK. On August 6, 1959 Pat married Doreen Marie Rothstein in Lintlaw. They immediately started their family with the birth of their first son Larry and soon moved to Yorkton. Dad was employed as a trades person in Thompson and The Pas, before working several years for a local plumbing business in Yorkton.
Mom and dad moved to Roblin, MB in 1973, where dad and partner (Don Weber) opened a plumbing and heating business. They made their final move in 1987 to Pine Falls, MB where dad worked as a Pipefitter at Pine Falls Paper Mill (Abitibi Price).
Now living closer to their children and grandchildren much of the summer was spent camping and enjoying the nature and wilderness of the area. In the winter it was not uncommon to see dad on his snowmobile towing several grandkids in the sleigh he built. With 13 grandchildren dad and mom officially transformed into “Papa” and “Nana” a favourite destination for everyone.
Papa spent countless hours on the water fishing or helping the rest of us fish. He glowed in the thrill of watching the kids reeling in a catch. Operating the boat, handling the dip-net and baiting the next hook was a full time job that he never complained about. Dad was not one to be looking for a warm winter vacation. A trip to Alaska was more his style and winter fun was tending to his small trap line and being out and about when hunting season came around.
Retired in 2001, dad started a new hobby of woodworking. His spirit lives on in the many projects that Nana assisted him with and that we now treasure. The results include wagons, end tables, calendar frames and the ever famous Sequence Card Game boards customized with laminated photos of his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Doreen in 2014. Papa is survived by five children five children, Larry (Tammy), Tim, Jeff (Kim), Bernie (Del) Demchuk and Linda (Don) Phillips. Papa will also be greatly missed by his thirteen grandchildren Amy (Ryan), Dean (Kaylee), Alison (Kent), Brittni (Joe), Derek, Tory (Tyler), Danny, Darin, Samantha, Robert, Emily, Cassie, Leah and five great-grandchildren Addison, Tyler, Jon, Teagan and Oliver Patrick.
We miss you Papa.
Prayers will be said at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 followed by the celebration of his life with a Funeral Mass commencing at 1:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame du Laus Catholic Church, 40 Laura St., in Powerview, Manitoba. Fellowship and Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Interment will be arranged in Lintlaw, Saskatchewan this summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat’s name may be made to Notre Dame du Laus Catholic Church, P.O. Box 265 Powerview, MB R0E1M0 or to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
