JAMES McCREEDY

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of their father, grandfather (gramps), great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, James Allen McCreedy, age 93.

He leaves to mourn, his son Kenneth (Carol) and daughter Rosalyn (Glen). He also leaves his grandchildren Jamie (Jackie), Kendra (Mike), Alana (Henry), and Nadine. He loved and treasured each and every one of his grandchildren and all of the experiences he shared with them. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Dayson, Karson, Kenzie, Ryler, Emily, Alex, and Bradley and one great-great-granddaughter Juliet.

Dad had a special place in his heart for his extended family Mark Bishop (Alice), grandchildren Michelle (Jared), Chantal, and Eric and great-granddaughter Sienna. He leaves his sister Marilyn LaPage (Dick), brother-in-law Alex Kurceba, sister-in-law Marian McCreedy, and sister-in-law Marcia Bell.

James was predeceased by his wives Angela and Mary; parents Mary and William McCreedy; brothers Johnny, Russel, and Bobby, and sisters Jean and Joyce.

Dad was a veteran of the Second World War and he spent his entire working life as a machinist at the CPR. Most importantly he was the greatest listener and always available in providing his insight and quiet guidance in helping his family navigate their lives. There are no words to express our immense sadness at the passing of the patriarch of our family.

Dad spent the last years of his life at Concordia Village, met many, and enjoyed all of them. He took to life at the Village with enthusiasm and enjoyed all it had to offer. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to all residents and staff for their thoughts and prayers.

A celebration service and reception will take place at Concordia Village in the Village Centre, 1115 Molson Street at 10:30 AM on Wednesday October 11, 2017.
