July 1, 1932 – October 29, 2016


Peacefully, with family by her side, Marie Paille passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Victoria Hospital at the age of 84 years.


She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1978; two sons Phillip Edward and Phillip Charles Paille; four brothers Ben, Frank, Ed and Billy Orne; sister Grace McMillian, parents Benjamin and Pearl Orne and stepfather John Hochkevich.  She is survived by her three sons Charles, John-Paul and Michael; two daughters Victoria Young (John) and Janet Paille; fifteen grandchildren Shannon Jagger (Rod), Sandy Paille, Terri, Wendy (Rob), Amanda (Marty) and Jonathon Young, Michael, Donald and Sherry Paille, Christine Forsyth (Lain), Nicole, Matthew, and Megan Paille and Sapphire and Jade Paille; two great-grandsons Brody Young and and Xander Forsyth and one brother John Orne (Bev).


A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road.  Following a reception, Marie will be laid to rest with her husband in the Brookside Cemetery Field of Honour.


The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Jackie, Tammy and staff of the Vista Park Lodge and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Victoria Hospital Emergency for the kind and compassionate care of Marie during her stays.  She truly died with dignity and honour as a result of the quality of her care.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba.
