Rhonda Starr
Marchant

May 4, 1959 - June 4, 2018

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Rhonda Starr Marchant in her sleep on Monday, June 4th, at the age of 59, after some health issues.

She will be sadly missed and remembered by her sister Kimberly Dawn Hoover, brother Ronald Hoover Jr, daughter Kerri Burns and her children Kayla, Shawn, Geoffrey and Kayden. Son Kevin Kirk and his wife Erin Kirk and there children, Maicy, Brayden, Troy, Kaylan, Cassandra and Lucas, Son Jim Findley and wife Kristi Findley and there children Kayden and Tristan, daughter Harleigh Marchant and her significant other Mike Schreiber and there son Connor, and daughter Dawna Marchant.

Starr Marchant was born on May 4th, 1959, in Lorain, Ohio. Growing up with her two siblings. Starr was a wandering spirit. She was full of life and a zest for the unknown.  Starr had a love for motorcycles and cars from a young age, and at one point owned her own Harley Davidson.

Starr had many friends throughout her life and was always the life of the party.  In 1986, Starr decided to immigrate to Canada with her son, Jim, and start a new life in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. From there, Starr and her family decided to move to Gillam, Manitoba, where they lived off and on for many years. Later on in life, Starr moved her and her daughters to the Pas, Manitoba for quite some time, before eventually moving up to Thompson.

In 2016, her son Jim moved her from Thompson to Winnipeg to be closer to family, from there Starr lived with Jim and his family and then lived with her daughter, Dawna.

The last year and a half was tough on Starr, as though she was strong-willed, her health was her downfall. All that knew Starr loved her very much and she touched the hearts of many people and was a voice that many people respected and listened to. Starr had a way when she talked: she was able to give people a peace of mind and understanding that is often hard to find in this day and age.

Starr will be forever missed and loved by her family and friends. R.I.P. to our beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

A celebration of Starr's life will take place between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road.
