CALVIN MAGILL
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cal at the age of 73.
Cal was predeceased by his father George; mother Gertrude (Susan); brother William and sister Gladys. He is survived by his lifelong friend Geraldine and her sons Bruce and Andrew; daughters Frances (Ian) and Amanda (Vince); grandsons, Kollin (Kayti), Reece, Aidan, Tytan and Jonah; granddaughters Kelsea, Mackenzie (Walter) and Mila; great-grandchildren, Drayden, Maleena, Peyton, Olivia and Sawyer; brother Cameron (Karen); sisters Phyllis and Ethel, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cal had a long career in the trucking industry with more than 25 years at Gardewine North as a mechanic. Some of his favorite times were spent at our family campground on the Henry Heritage Homestead with family and friends. From playing horseshoes, crib tournaments or Texas Hold’em there was always tons of laughter and great memories made – sometimes even into the wee hours of the morning around the bonfire with a beverage in hand.
Cal enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and found joy in spoiling them with treats, especially ice-cream; which was also one of his favorites.
We would like to thank everyone at Tiger Hill Health Centre who helped us through this difficult time.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…
Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved and missed. Xoxo
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Brooklands Inn located at 8 Keewatin Street in Winnipeg.
