Chawna Lloyd-Pawlowich

October 29, 1968 - June 7, 2017

Peacefully, after bravely battling cancer, Chawna passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 48 years.

On October 29th, 1968, Bev and Colin Lloyd brought their beautiful baby girl into the world and into the family home on Clifton Street. Chawna Lee Ann Lloyd grew from childhood through adolescence and young adulthood into a giving and graceful woman.

She was very passionate, caring for others before herself which showed in the way she loved and doted on her two younger brothers Tom and Jimmy. She took great pride in being their big sister.

Chawna was a deeply spiritual person who often gave up her own comfort for that of the people around her. Her first priority in life was always her two beautiful daughters, Shelina and Sarissa who are a testament to the kindness and strength that Chawna radiated. No less important to her was a little orange cat named Pekoe who, upon adoption, instantly became a member of the family.

Chawna dedicated her life to serving others. She treated her clients like they were friends and she treated her friends like they were her family.

In 2013 Kerry Horan entered Chawna’s life. Chawna and Kerry were inseparable. No one knew at that time what an incredible and strong person he was. Kerry spent every possible minute by Chawna’s side through wonderful times and through the most difficult moments of her fight against cancer. Kerry and Chawna’s love for each other was infectious, they knew how to love and how to laugh.

Chawna’s energy and passion will live on in the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to have known her.

Chawna is survived by her fiancé Kerry Horan; daughters Shelina Lloyd-Pawlowich (Anthony Melo) and Sarissa Lloyd-Pawlowich (Tyrique Taylor); parents Colin and Beverley Lloyd; two brothers Tom Lloyd (and his daughter Jenaya) and Jim (Paige) Lloyd.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service held.

God's Masterpiece

From graceful lilies pure and white,
God fashioned lovely skin,
Forget-me-nots he chose for eyes,
Then formed your baby chin.

He took a tulip bright and red --
Twas one that did not fade;
A softer, sweeter little mouth
Before was never made.

Another flower next He used --
A rosebud, pink and fair;
Touched it to your dimpled cheeks
And bade it blossom there.

Then with His magic fingers picked
Two morning glories white;
Curled and shaped your little ears,
Soon they were fastened tight.

That crowning bit of golden down
Will soon become your hair;
He gathered pollen from the flowers,
And sprinkled it with care.

For dainty little fingers dear
And precious, tiny toes,
He used slender daisy frills;
A snowdrop made your nose.

This world and all within it
He created here for woman;
But Baby was "God's Masterpiece"
Since time and life began
