A message from Elizabeth’s older brother Richard from Toronto.
It is with great sadness that our dear sister Elizabeth Janet Clayton has passed away.
We grew up knowing Elizabeth as Lisa.
Lisa is the 3rd of 4 children. Born and raised in Toronto. Oldest sibling being sister Michele, older brother Richard and younger brother Jody.
We all have the fondest memories of Lisa being such a wonderful spirit. Always full of laughter, strength and determination to do things her way.
When I think of her life passing away, I am stricken by grief that she was only 46. We shared a birthday being March 16, however we were 1 year apart.
On our birthdays growing up, we always posed for pictures and cut the cake together.
We both agreed that our 1976 birthday cake was the best ever. It had multi-colored candies stuck all over the cake!
When we look upon one’s full life line, we tend to measure a straight line in years, from birth to death.
Lisa’s life could never be measured as a straight line from birth to death.
Lisa’s life line had so many Ups and Downs, exciting twists and turns, mostly forwards and sometimes backwards.
Not all of it happy, but definitely always full of love, exciting and plenty of beautiful experiences.
If we were to stretch Lisa’s life line out, based on her experiences with all its twists and turns, Motherhood and being a Grandmother, it would certainly match anyone else who had the privilege of many more decades.
Lisa is survived by her 3 beautiful children, Joseph, Jordan and Edison and 2 adorable grandchildren Markus and Preston.
We love you so much Lisa, you will be missed, Rest in Peace with Grandma Erica and Nanny Florence.
Forever saddened by your passing
Richard Clayton
