It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sanchia (Sandy) Margaret Lamirande (née Pielou).

Sandy leaves her beloved husband Rolly Lamirande; daughter Michelle De Guzman (Alvin); granddaughter Megan; sisters Linda (Jerry) and Moreen and brother James (Aniko). She was predeceased by her sisters Donna O’Toole and Carole Campbell; mother Margaret Frederick, father Harry Pielou and step-father Henry Frederick.

Sandy worked for the department of Vital Statistics and the Winnipeg Public Library. A perfect job for her considering her love of reading. Sandy also took pride in her lovely garden, which was a reflection on her caring nature. She enjoyed the summer trips out to Gimli and holidays spent in Barbados with Rolly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking her dog Woofee for walks.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Winnipeg Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Concordia Hospital for their best efforts and compassionate care during Sandy’s time there.
