Maureen Hunter

March 17, 1932 - March 25, 2019

MAURINE ROBERTA HUNTER

Maureen arrived March 17, 1932 and departed suddenly from an acute illness, to be with our Heavenly Father March 25, 2019.

Maureen is predeceased by her sister, Gail Burden as well as parents, Lilian and William. She will be missed dearly by her nieces Ruth Burden (Robert), Rachel Burden (Oliver), and her great-niece Emma.

Born in Winnipeg, Maureen worked for Eaton’s and, as an accomplished chorister, dedicated her life to the celebration of faith through music first at St. James Anglican Cathedral and then at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. As a resident of Tuxedo Villa, she made a rich contribution on the Resident’s Council. She was an avid knitter, her charitable work through the Villa’s Knitting Club received formal recognition. A friend and advocate to all God’s furry creatures, Maureen’s sharp wit and determination will be missed by friends and loved ones.

The family extends appreciation for the exceptional care Maureen received at Tuxedo Villa and Grace Hospital ICU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to either foundation.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a eulogy, stories and condolences for the family by commenting in the section on the right-hand side.
