James Glenn Hornan
On September 4, 2018, Dad passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Jim is survived by his wife Dorothy of 52 years and their children: Gordon, Bobbie, Caroline, Geraldine, and Frances; their partners, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his furbaby Cindy-Lynn.
All who knew Dad knew he loved his family, hunting at Sipiwesk Lake, as well as camping and fishing at Paint Lake. He loved hockey and football. His favourite team was the Boston Bruins and he hated the Jets. He did love the Bombers and never missed a game on TV or CJOB. Dad was also famous for dropping F- bombs in every sentence!
Dad took pride in everything he did, from his gardens, to fixing his vehicle, renovating our family home and his job of over thirty years at Inco in Thompson. Dad was stubborn, determined, and tough as nails, but deep down his bark was worse than his bite. Dad taught us so much; love, respect, family values and life lessons.
Thank you to the medicare teams and doctors at Oakbank Primary Healthcare, Selkirk emergency, CancerCare and Seven Oaks I.C.U. for all of Dad’s care.
As per Dad’s request, there will be no service. The family will have a private interment at a later date.
Family and Friends can make a donation in Dad’s honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or your local Wildlife Federation.
We love you and miss you Dad!
