Lennox Henry

LENNOX HENRY

Lennox Lester Henry of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at the age of 82 following a lengthy illness.


Lenny is survived by his children, Ronald (Carol) Henry and Peter (Beverly) Henry, his grandchildren; Laura Harder, Carmen, Alex, Lucas, Rachel and Isaac Henry, his step-children; Hugh Moses, Darryl & Theresa David and Rosemary Gilbert, his brothers Kenny Henry, of New York, and Victor Henry of Trinidad; sisters, Veronica Henry of Trinidad, Yvonne Fox of San Antonio; and other family and friends.

 

Lenny is predeceased by his parents, May and Herbert Henry; brother Tellisford Henry and nephew Kenny Henry Jr. of New York.

 

Lenny was born in Forest Reserve, Fyzabad on May 15, 1935. He was accepted into and studied at Presentation College San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago.

 

Lenny worked as a Carman for Canadian National Railway for 27 years until he retired in June 1995. He enjoyed cooking traditional food from Trinidad, gardening, golfing, bowling, playing music, and family get togethers. Lenny was also actively involved in the Trinidad & Tobago Association and was a founding member of the organization. He was especially dedicated to starting up the annual Caripeg Carnival and spent countless hours organizing the event, making costumes for the Parade and ensuring a good time was had by all. He was particularly proud of their participation in the 1999 Pan Am games closing ceremony.
 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on September 5, 2017 at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Parish Church, 135 John Forsyth Road, Winnipeg. Fr. Chrys Agu of St. Timothy Parish will be officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul Funeral arrangements are being handled by Integrity Cremation & Funeral Planning (integritydeathcare.com).

 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Cancercare Manitoba and Canadian Blood Services. The family of Lennox Lester Henry wishes to thank Dr. Salem, Dr. Houston, Barb Hues, the team at Manitoba Cancercare Hematology Clinic, and the nursing staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their care, love, and support for Lennox over the many years of illness.
