Denis Gautron
December 1, 1949 - January 21, 2019
DENIS ERNEST GAUTRON
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Denis on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 69 years young.
Denis will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Karan; son Noel (Anne); daughter Arielle (Yves); grandchildren Sebastien and Dominic. Also mourning his loss are his mother, Adrienne; siblings, Bernard, Gilles (Joan), René (Marie), and Jeannette(Lyndon) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Charles. He will also be missed by his two four-legged buddies, Teddy and Oreo.
Born December 1, 1949, in Winnipeg, Denis was an automotive enthusiast from a young age, turning that passion into a lifelong career, as one of the most sought out Corvette restoration experts. As owner of Canterbury Corvette Center he was a well known in the restoration community for his quality of craftsmanship, receiving phone calls from all over the world seeking his knowledge.
Denis’ whole world changed when he laid his eyes on his soul mate Karan at Festival du Voyageur in 1975. His persistence led to their long distance relationship, which finished in Karan moving to Canada in 1977.
Living in Ile-Des-Chenes, they raised their two children Arielle and Noel and many memories were made on that property together. Whether it was building snow forts, many hours of under-ducks on the tire swing or tractor rides with his grandson, Denis brought his family much happiness and laughter.
Denis’ friendly demeanor always enabled him to make friends with everyone he met. He would always lend a hand to whomever needed help, all while talking your ear off for hours on end. Denis had touched the lives of many people and will leave many memorable thoughts and feelings in their hearts. Karan and family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who has been so supportive with their help and prayers.
A big thank you to the staff at St. Boniface hospital, especially those from 7A West.
A private memorial will be planned. Date yet to be determined.
