BRENDA MICHELLE GALBRAITH
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brenda Michelle Galbraith (née Zooke) on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the young age of 66.
Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Ryan (Michelle) Galbraith and Kyle (Jen) Galbraith; grandchildren Jaeda, Jorja, Luxton and Henley; sisters Elaine (Ray) Protano and Carol (Bert) Simpkin; nephew and niece Michael (Kim) Simpkin and Chelsey (Jeff) Shynkaryk; as well as great nephews and nieces Avery, Cruz and Malone.
Brenda is reunited with her parents Mitch and Mae Zooke and her grandson Cody Galbraith.
Brenda was born in Winnipeg on July 29, 1952. She grew up in Weston and attended Cecil Rhodes and Technical Vocational High School. She took her first job uptown where she met one of her best friends Heather Loreth on the city bus. In 1976, Brenda married Graham and raised two wonderful sons together. Over the years she enjoyed spending her time at the cottage at Deception Lake and later Buffalo Point. When not at the cottage, she spent time traveling the world where she saw Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Thailand just to name a few.
Brenda worked for many years as a healthcare aid at Golden West Centennial Lodge taking great pride in her work. She left Golden West to care for her father during his last days. Later she took a job as an Educational Assistant for the Winnipeg School Division helping children with special needs.
Brenda loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to pass time with reading, completing crossword puzzles and spending time with her dog, Molly. Her focus was always helping others and she was the most caring and giving person you could ever meet. Brenda was very friendly and was always known to start a conversation with everyone and anyone.
Brenda was a great mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. We will always love her and she will always be in our thoughts and hearts.
The family will have a private internment service in May. A come and go reception, in memory of Brenda, will be held for family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 4 Raden Road, Headingley, MB.
