Donna Felder

December 31, 1944 - September 19, 2017

Donna Felder

(née Chornenki)

Donna Felder passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 72 years.

Donna was born December 31, 1944 to John and Myrtle (née Conrad) Chornenki in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the age of seven, Donna moved to California with her family, where she grew up and later raised her own children. She married Ken Felder on June 8, 1974.

Although she held many jobs throughout her life, her most important roles were that of a wife, mother and grandmother. She left her family a legacy of love and quality time: from feeding ducks at the park to pinching pierogies at the kitchen counter, the memories of fun and laughter will live on. Her examples of godly living and Proverbs 31 homemaking have touched the lives of many. She loved to create handmade gifts for those she loved, especially quilts and sweaters.

Throughout her years as a pastor’s wife and truck driver, Donna traveled to all 48 contiguous states with her husband. When she was at home, her door was always open. She invited nearly anyone and everyone into her home, and could put on a dinner spread in a very short amount of time. She made every person who walked through her door feel incredibly welcome.

Donna will be deeply missed by her husband Ken Felder of McCall Creek, Mississippi; sons Robert (Theresa) Stern of Palmdale, California and David (Karen) Stern of Muscatine, Iowa; grandchildren Josh Stern, Danny Stern, Todd Stern, Rachel Stern, Bessa (Matthew) Blom, Kaitlyn Stern, and Aaron Stern; great-granddaughters Gemma Stern and Juliette Stern; sister Mary-Anne (Gary) McKillop; nephew Cory (Cynthia) McKillop; niece Christy (Shane) Neufeld; a great-niece; three great-nephews; and many extended family members, special friends, and “adopted” family members. She was predeceased by her parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
