Allan Denton
August 22, 1925 - July 1, 2018
Allan Randolph Denton reached the final stop on his life’s journey on July 1, 2018, at the age of 92.
Allan was the only child of Oliver and Adeline Denton, who both predeceased him.
His passion in life was trains. He spent his entire career working for Canadian Pacific Railway. When he retired in 1985, he continued his connection to CP by playing an active role in the Canadian Pacific Railway Pensioners Association. He was proud to serve as the association’s treasurer, and only recently gave up his duties due to his failing health.
The Prairie Dog Central Railway held a special spot in Allan’s heart. He volunteered as a Porter and was known on the tracks for sharing stories with guests and fellow train enthusiasts.
When he was not riding the rails, Allan enjoyed staying on top of current issues. He felt it was important to pay close attention to whatever was making headlines, including both local and world politics. Allan loved discussing and perhaps debating hot topics. If he got you on the phone and the discussion lead to something in the news you could guarantee the conversation would be a long one. Allan leaves many friends to share his memory.
Allan did not want a service. A private interment will be held later.
