GILLES C. DANSEREAU

It is with great sadness that the family of Gilles Dansereau announces his passing on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the age of 73 years.

Born and raised in Letellier, Manitoba, Gilles leaves to mourn, his son Paul; Paul's mother Therese; brothers Cecil (Celine), Raymond (Colleen), Guy (Donna), Gerald (Joanne); sisters Lise Vermette and Ermelle Bozynski and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and the USA. He was predeceased by his son Marc; parents Conrad and Florence; brother Laurice; sisters Dorette Herbachuk and Vivianne Marcino and brothers-in-law Louis Vermette and Ted Herbachuk.

Gilles followed the mining industry in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba until he moved to Winnipeg where he operated Mac's and Husky Convenience Stores. He also managed Co-Op Stores in Sachs Harbour, NT, Coral Harbour and Pangnirtung, NU until he retired in Winnipeg .   He was a member of Paroisse St. Norbert and the Knights of Columbus. He served mass and enjoyed chauffeuring the local priest to appointments and most of all he loved chit-chatting with seniors over lots of coffee at Le Chalet or nearby coffee shops. His adventurous spirit also took him to warmer climates in the winter and camping with Paul in the summer.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date.

His family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all those who cared for, visited or prayed for Gilles while at St. Boniface, Deer Lodge and Victoria Hospitals over the past year.

Repose en Paix Gilles.

I was surprised to see about Gille's passing even though I knew he was not well at all....we used to see Gilles many times at Tim Horton's on Pemina Highway, He would come & sit with us and we shared many happy memories of our school days etc....from Letellier. We sure had some good laughs...also we would always see each other at many funerals from people we both knew.

He was a very kind man always there to be ready to lend many favours to someone in need.

Gilles you are at peace now & rejoice meeting with your family in Heaven!

Our sincere sympathy to the Dansereau family, our thoughts & prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

Gilles Repose en Paix!
