BEVERLY ANNE DALMAN

April 26, 1944 - July 24, 2015

(née McCallum)

Beverly Dalman passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the age of 71.

Bev was predeceased by her husband John Eric Dalman and parents Jim and Marge McCallum.  Beverly was a wonderfully loved mother to Chris Dalman (Shirley), Jean Dalman and Heather Tuba (Derek); grandmother to eight special grandchildren, Nicholas, Sara, Cameron, Laura, Juliette, Claire, Gaby and Annie and a cherished sister to Marnie Cooper (John Crawford) and their family. She is is also lovingly remembered by her dear in-laws, Linda Knight (Don), Johanne Benediktson (Brian), Lyall Dalman (Joanna) and their families.

Born in Saskatoon, Bev later moved to Winnipeg with her family and attended Miles Mac Collegiate, the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba. She taught in the River East School division at several schools during her more than twenty-five year career as an educator. She truly loved her career, the friends she made and the challenges and rewards achieved from teaching. Bev and Eric especially enjoyed their many years at the cottage in Shoal Lake, Ontario. Of great meaning was Bev and Eric’s two years in Asia and time spent there with her niece JoElle and husband Jim Scott.

Upon retirement, Bev and her friends enjoyed travelling together to Germany, Italy, Florida and trips across Canada visiting relatives. She also enjoyed special times in Churchill, Banff, Niagara Falls and Florida with her grandchildren. Bev wished all her travelling companions loads of love and happy times together.

Bev’s wish for her family: peace, happiness and love. Stay strong, together and in harmony.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 29 in the Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton Street, with the Rev. Bill Millar officiating. Parking is available at Portage Place Shopping Mall and surrounding area. Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends for their prayers and support. We are truly grateful for the care and compassion from the WRHA palliative care team and especially Clinical Nurse Specialist, Lisa Streeter.  We also thank  the Reverend Bill Millar for his spiritual care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bev’s memory can be made to the Knox United Church or the Pediatric Oncology unit at CancerCare Manitoba by clicking on the buttons above.

We were so sorry to hear of Bev's passing. We were in Vancouver when we heard the news. We realize that, in the end, it was a blessing for her to go but that does not mitigate the pain of your loss. We had many great family meals with both Bev and Marge when they lived here.

She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.

Mrs. Dalman was like a second mom to me as i spent so many years as a friend to Jean growing up and I will truly cherish her memory. She was such a wonderful mother! My condolences to her entire family. I pray for God's peace and comfort for all of you!

Our condolences to everyone who had the wonderful opportunity to have her as part of their lives. Aunt Bev was a lovely woman with a kind spirit who always managed to ensure that everyone she met was cherished for being themselves. She took the time to get to know each one of us and had a gift for ensuring that everyone had a special place in her heart. If there ever was example of a truly kind and good person, then it was her.

Aunt Bev will be missed and will always be remembered with a smile.

Love David, Jacqui and Nate Cooper
