BRENDA MORDEN
August 12, 1959 – May 23, 2019
BRENDA PEARL KING MORDEN
With heavy hearts, we announce that Brenda has passed away on May 23, 2019 at the age of 59 years.
Left to mourn her passing is her loving partner, David, her daughter Lindsay (Devon); siblings Catherine (Bill), Johnny, Jeannie (Glen), Barbara (Kevin), Carl (Sheila), Lawrence (Chris) as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her abnormally large cat JD. She is reunited with her mother and father, Jenny & Anthony King and her brothers Edward and Walter.
Brenda grew up on a farm in East Selkirk with her parents and her 7 siblings. On the farm, she developed a love for animals which carried on through the years. She was taught how to sew by her mother Jenny and it quickly became one of her passions. Over the years, she sewed many a dresses, patched many a holes and even sewed costumes for her cats.
Brenda gave birth to a baby girl (me) in 1984 who has always loved her and admired her deeply. Mom and I shared a love of nature and spent many weekends with the family camping at Falcon Lake or lazy days on the beach at Patricia beach. She loved to make perogies, perishke and homemade pizza with me and would always have to warn me that stealing too much of her dough would give me a tummy ache.
Mom began a relationship with the love of her life, David, 9 years ago and they shared many wonderful vacations, date nights at Smitty's and evenings in the yard together. My mom bought the home she had always wanted 2 years ago, and David renovated and remodeled it to mom's every wish. It brought her so much joy to be able to share this home with her family.
Mom loved life and she loved to laugh. She met all life's challenges with such a positive attitude and never complained. She enjoyed and appreciated her many friendships, but her greatest joy was her family. She cherished family get-togethers and Christmas was her favorite time of year.
Mom was the most generous, loving and compassionate person I have ever known. She always just wanted everyone around her to be happy and healthy and would give you anything that was within her capability to give. Even when she was struggling with her own challenges, her top priority was always her family and friends.
She will always be in our memories, forever in our hearts and living on in those she left behind.
She's in the sun, the wind, the rain,
She's in the air you breathe with every breath you take.
She sings a song of hope and cheer,
there's no more pain, no more fear.
You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love,
You'll be together before long, until then, listen for her song.
In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, a donation can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
A celebration of her life was held at 2:00pm, Saturday June 22, 2019 at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).
