Bonnie Pamela Shallcross (née Burns), aged 69 years of Brandon, Manitoba passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday May 16, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Center.

Bonnie was born in Brandon on November 2nd 1949 to Robert “Bob” and Evelyn (née Gray) Burns. She grew up and went to school in Brandon. She worked odd jobs over the years, including working at the sewing factory, being a daycare worker, hairdresser and a homemaker. In the early 1970s she married her first husband Wayne Harrison with whom she had her daughter Tammy. A few years later she met the love of her life Norman Shallcross, they were married on April 28, 1989  in Brandon.

Bonnie lived a fulfilled life with lots of memories made with family and friends. She rode horses when she was younger and helped train daughter Tammy for Western riding.

Bonnie and her family have had a cabin at Otter Lake for many years, this was her favourite place in the world, somewhere she could relax and enjoy nature at its finest, especially her flower bed. She would live up there all summer and for part of the fall seasons. Her hobbies and interests included a love for backroad adventures, golf cart rides, boat rides, motorcycle rides (in her younger days!), crafts, animals, early Christmas shopping, meeting new people and many more! For over 20 years she would be seen every weekend at Sportsman's park at the flea market with her table set-up, this had become her passion and while there she met many friends and new faces.

It wasn't until 2015 that her health changed. This is when Bonnie was diagnosed with a Meningioma Brain Tumor. Over the past 4 years she had fought a hard battle, including three large surgeries as well as radiation. Even while going through this she maintained a positive outlook on life. The memories she was able to make over the last few years are a win in this battle!

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Norman Shallcross; daughter Tammy (Don) Hulsmans; granddaughter Kyria Hulsmans; brother Robbie (Terry) Burns and family; sister-in-law Lil Gray and niece Jackie (Rob) Sucharyna and family. She was predeceased by her parents Bob and Evelyn Burns; brothers Doug Gray and Raymond Burns.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to A3 Palliative Staff at the Brandon Regional Health Center and to Dr. H. Fourie for their dedication in taking care of our loved one.
