René Bohemier

August 9, 1958 - July 14, 2018

René Philip Joseph Bohemier

On the morning of July 14, 2018 René passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by love.

René is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Corinne Bohemier and his precious dog Dexter.

He is survived by his wife Chrissy Fagan, sister Lisa Kazmerik (Brian), brother Duane, nephew Michael (Michelle), nieces Katrice (Derek), Alexandria, great niece Brookelyn and great nephew Sylus.

René had a zest for life and could be found biking and walking everywhere - in his earlier days with Dexter leading the way.  Bruce Park was a favorite meeting place for René and many neighborhood friends.  René was definitely a people person.  He loved crossword puzzles, trivia games, cards and a good party.  He had a photographic memory for people, places and events – family looked forward to Rene’s call on their birthday every year.  René was generous and loved to buy Christmas presents, taking time to choose a special gift he knew you would love and watch with pleasure as you opened it.  René collected Harley Davidson t-shirts from all over the world and was proud of his numerous tattoos.  He was passionate about sports, especially hockey, the Montreal Canadians were his favorite team.  René was thrilled when the Jets came back, he watched all the Jets playoff games, and was delighted when Riverview staff decorated his room and cheered along with him.

René had an incredible work ethic and had hoped to work again one day.  He and Chrissy took pride in their garden, planting tomatoes, peppers, herbs and flowers.

René was grateful for the many visitors at Riverview.  They provided him much comfort and support during a very difficult time.

Thank you to the staff at Riverview for the care, compassion and attention they gave René – you were truly amazing.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, Riverview Health Centre or Cancer Care Manitoba.

Cremation has taken place and a family service is planned for a later date.

Fly René, you are free from pain.
